OUR PROGRAMS

At Wonnai Preschool our 3 and 4 year old programs take place both indoors and outdoors in our beautiful grounds and are based on the knowledge that children learn through play. For children to learn effectively they need to gain confidence and independence, whilst also exploring their environment through play-based activities. Our kinder programs are further enhanced by a variety of incursions and celebration days throughout the year. We vary activities and programming from year to year to allow for the diversity of interests within different groups of children to extend their learning opportunities. Children in our programs are encouraged to find out about the world around them through discovery, experimentation and reflection.

Both 3 and 4 year old programs use the National Quality Frameworks, Early Years Learning Framework, and Victorian Early Years Learning & Development Framework to inform learning programs. Our programs aim to reflect children’s individual interests and learning styles, together with family and cultural backgrounds. Active listening and observation is valued by the teachers. We pride ourselves on offering rich experiences to excite and engage children while also enhancing their learning. At Wonnai Preschool, children safely explore hands-on, open-ended learning experiences, which aim to promote creativity, exploration, and respect for themselves, their world and each other.

An important goal is for children to feel safe and secure within their learning environment. Similarly, children learn to respect the rights of others, develop their own social skills and, most importantly, have a wonderful time while at Wonnai Preschool!

Our four-year-old kindergarten program runs at 15 hours per week with the option of either long (2 x 7.5 hour) or short (3 x 5 hour) days.

Our three-year-old kindergarten program runs at 9 hours per week during 2023 (3 x 3 hour days).
