Community & FAMILY involvement

At Wonnai Preschool there are many different ways for parents and families to get involved with the kinder community, including:

  • Being a member of the Committee or Fundraising Sub-Committee;

  • Participating in social events such as play dates;

  • Participating in fundraising events such as the annual Bunnings BBQ;

  • Contributing to working bees;

  • Attending the annual Welcome BBQ, Mother’s/Father’s evenings and/or our other celebratory events;

  • Bringing in recycled items for the children to use for craft/play activities. These items are often requested in the monthly newsletters;

  • Attending information sessions, parent/teacher meetings and annual Open days;

  • Providing feedback on the kindergarten experience of their child or family through the parent voice books in the preschool foyer;

  • Supporting teachers and educators by contributing information about their child’s interests, strengths and needs; and

  • Working with teachers to set learning goals for their children.

WORKING WITH CHILDREN CHECKS

Please note that all parents/guardians/grandparents participating in the kinder duty program are required to hold a valid Working With Children Check. The check is free for volunteers and more information is available here: http://www.workingwithchildren.vic.gov.au/
